Caravan parks dordogne12/15/2023 ![]() ![]() These races are for horse trotting and are held in the evening, a fun time for all ages with a firework display at the end of some of the meetings. There is a race course near to the park that hosts races throughout the season which is an additional feature to many, there are 8 meetings per year, once a week in July and August. The restaurant is being extended with a covered outdoor terrace with screening, this will be open shortly, for dining outside in the warm evenings. The park is completely secure as the park owners have their own house on site, and there are barriers at the entrance. A small shop is due to open this summer next to the restaurant. ![]() The river Dropt that surrounds the park also has trout that can be kept & cooked by those lucky enough to catch them. There is a badminton/squash court, an outdoor pool and not forgetting the lake which is fully stocked with bream, carp, pike, black bass, roach and zander – a paradise for fishing enthusiasts, with 24 hour fishing available. The park itself has a restaurant & bar, open all year, with a cosy log fire that greets you at the entrance. It has a preserved cobbled centre with an attractive covered market building dating back centuries, which houses a weekly market, with evening markets in the streets from May to the end of September. Open 12 months of the year, the park owners also offer a transfer service to & from Bergerac airport (20 minutes’ drive), this means that a car could be left in your absence, for your use once arrived for your stay.Ī short 5 minute walk takes you into the nearest medieval town of Villereal which offers local shops (bakers, butchers & local produce) a weekly market, lively bars & restaurants & banking facilities. Most plots are very spacious with 250 – 300 square metres of ground available and there is the additional advantage that the plots are on mains drainage. We have a great selection of spacious plots available with a small selection of plots available for Lodges on the lakeside. Their fortifications date back to the Hundred Years War, which was 750 years ago, most remain intact with ancient town centres and cobbled streets.
